I’ve added an ICY DOCK 5-bay hotswap to my NAS. It took some effort—I had to bend the case a bit to fit the bay, and temporarily removed the SSD pool. I moved two 4TB drives to the new hotswap bays and added the shucked WD drives. The WD Whites weren’t spinning up at first, but after taping over three pins on the power connector (a known fix for these drives), they started working. I set them up as a new 14TB RAIDZ array.
