Toilet Paper Clicker: A Mixed Reality Game for Bathroom Breaks

Introducing Toilet Paper Clicker, a mixed reality game I’ve been working on that’s perfect for those moments when you’re… well, sitting on the toilet. The concept is simple but fun: the world is in a pandemic-induced Toilet Paper shortage, and you find a magical button that produces toilet paper rolls out of the ceiling. You start a company to sell the rolls, but there’s a catch—you have to manually press the button each time to get a roll. As you build your toilet paper empire, you come up with ways to automate and improve the process, making life a little easier while you stack up those rolls.

The Core Game

  • Press the button, and a roll of toilet paper drops from the ceiling.
  • Your roll counter increases with each press.
  • As you progress, you can buy upgrades to improve your production—more rolls per click, automatic clicks, and other fun tools to grow your TP empire.

Making the Game

This all started as a small minigame in another project called Squeeze It Out, but I ended up splitting it off into its own thing. After updating from the Oculus Integration Toolkit to the Meta SDK, the basics are up and running:

  • Press the button, watch rolls drop from the ceiling, and see them interact with the environment.
  • A news ticker shows updates from the world of Toilet Paper Clicker, adding a bit of story as you build your empire.
  • I’ve added floating numbers for each click and a counter to show your clicks per second, especially useful when automations kick in.

What’s Next?

I’ve still got a lot of work to do. While juggling other projects, I’ve broken a few things with the SDK update, but I’ll fix those soon. Right now, the game’s progression system is shaping up nicely, and I’ve started generating assets for the automation upgrades. I’ve also reworked the logo and added some visual flair.
